Covid-19 and sanitizing environments: what risks and what prospects?

Born in Bologna in 1997 over the years Gico Systems has become a national reference point thanks to its Divisions of Pest Control and Safety & Vertical Solutions. At the headquarters in Bologna, we met the General Manager, Dr. Stefano Guerzoni and the Technical Director, Dr. Michele Ruzza.

Dr. Guerzoni, does the sector arrive prepared to respond professionally to such a strong demand for intervention in the workplace?

We are undoubtedly faced with an unprecedented emergency in recent history, which requires an immediate response, aimed not only at containing the emergency itself but also at concretely promoting, in the more or less near future, the restart of work and production activities , ensuring full safety and correct sanitization of the workplace. At the same time, it is necessary to guarantee the country an adequate industrial response, to make a service particularly useful in the fight against Covid-19 increasingly efficient and effective. In this first emergency phase, to respond to the needs of a market in constant turmoil, a large number of operators, more or less organized, were found unable to ensure qualified and compliant services: just think of those who mistakenly use automatic devices to ozone production, without these being actually indicated as suitable for combating the spread of the virus. Fortunately, professional operators will already guarantee the necessary efficiency (service at the correct price), efficacy (effective utility) and guarantee (certification of processes and products) from the next few months. And in this perspective, Gico Systems is definitely a step ahead of the competition, thanks to the professionalism and experience of a highly qualified group and the cutting-edge technologies used in the various work processes. The other competitive advantage is in the ability to respond to customer needs within 24 hours throughout the country.

Dr. Ruzza, from a technical point of view, what are the procedures followed by Gico Systems?

We immediately moved carefully following the guidelines of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDP of 18 February 2020), the World Health Organization and the Istituto Superiore di Sanità. These documents and the provisions included therein represent the real watershed between the professional operator and the rest of the market. Another of our added value is undoubtedly the possibility of issuing a certification attesting to the structured and organized approach to the management of company processes and the active ingredients used, aimed at guaranteeing the highest quality standards. Not surprisingly, in the last few weeks, we have refined all the procedures applicable to the various sectors (Offices and Professional Studies, Large-scale Organized Distribution, Industry, Logistics, corporate fleets, Aeraulic Plants) in order to offer our national and international customers a service highly customized, based on their specific needs!
