Founded in 1993 in Corporeno di Cento, in the province of Ferrara, CAMImpianti specialises in the design and construction of industrial systems for handling powders, granules and liquids across the food, chemical, plastics and rubber industries. Over more than thirty years in business, the company has built its growth around a model that goes far beyond the simple supply of industrial equipment: it works alongside companies as a technology partner, developing tailor-made solutions and building long-term relationships based on reliability, expertise and service quality. Today, CAMImpianti is looking to the future with an investment plan focused on human capital, digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence and international expansion, with the aim of further strengthening its competitiveness in an increasingly global and demanding industrial landscape. We discussed the company’s strategy with Ienner Tassinari, Sales Manager at CAMImpianti.

By Roberta Imbimbo
Mr Tassinari, what have been the key drivers behind CAMImpianti’s growth in recent years?
CAMImpianti’s growth is neither the result of a single investment nor the consequence of particularly favourable market conditions. Rather, it reflects a strategy pursued consistently and continuously over time. We have built our development by consolidating a strong and steady market presence and, above all, by developing the ability to interpret our customers’ requirements quickly and accurately, often anticipating their needs. Since our foundation, we have never seen ourselves simply as a supplier of industrial systems, but rather as a qualified and reliable technical partner capable of supporting customers throughout the entire project lifecycle. From preliminary consultancy and engineering to implementation, after-sales support and maintenance, we provide continuous, highly specialised assistance. Today, the market rewards not only technological quality, but also the ability to support customers in managing the complexity of their production processes. It is precisely this operational proximity, combined with the quality of our solutions and the strength of our human relationships, that has enabled us to build lasting partnerships and generate value that extends far beyond the mere supply of technology.
How important is the human relationship in such a highly technological industry?
It is absolutely essential. Technology is fundamental, but it cannot replace trust. Every system stems from specific production requirements and therefore calls for constant dialogue with the customer. Listening, understanding critical issues and working together to identify the most effective solution remain among our greatest strengths. Trust is built over time through presence, responsiveness and the ability to provide concrete answers, even in the most complex situations. This consultative approach is what enables us to differentiate ourselves in the market and to be regarded as a strategic partner rather than simply a supplier.
Does human capital remain one of CAMImpianti’s main competitive strengths?
Absolutely. We currently have a team of 32 people, and over the past six months we have recruited two new technical professionals. Two more will join us by the end of the year. We have chosen to invest primarily in strengthening our engineering department because we firmly believe that our in-house know-how is our most valuable competitive asset. In a constantly evolving industry, highly specialised expertise enables us to respond more quickly, deliver increasingly accurate engineering solutions and provide a level of customisation that is difficult to replicate. Continuous training is therefore a strategic investment for us, even before it is an organisational one.

In recent months, you have launched new investments aimed at further strengthening the company’s competitiveness. Which areas are you focusing on?
For the first time in our history, we have launched a structured investment plan specifically targeting marketing and communications. We recognise that a company’s value lies not only in the quality of the solutions it delivers, but also in its ability to communicate its identity and showcase the wealth of expertise developed over more than thirty years in business. This is a three-year project, launched last April, which includes a complete redesign of our corporate website, the creation of a technical blog and a comprehensive editorial programme centred on customer testimonials. Through interviews and case studies, we highlight the challenges faced by companies and the value of the solutions we have developed together with them, providing tangible examples of our ability to support customers in addressing complex issues. We believe that the results achieved in the field and our customers’ direct experiences are the most effective indicators of the quality of our work.
Artificial Intelligence is transforming the industrial world. How do you expect it to change your sector?
Artificial Intelligence represents a transformation that is set to have a profound impact across the entire industrial value chain. From a commercial perspective, it will significantly reduce the time required to prepare quotations, while improving the quality of analysis and the speed of our responses to customers. Within our engineering department, we are developing several projects focused on document automation and the optimisation of design and engineering processes. Rather than replacing human expertise, AI will become a tool for enhancing it, freeing people from repetitive tasks and allowing our technical specialists to focus on higher-value activities. We embarked on this journey at the beginning of last year and are still in an experimental phase. However, we believe that over the next twelve months we will see the introduction of the first operational applications capable of significantly improving the quality, efficiency and responsiveness of the services we provide to our customers.
You are also pursuing a significant industrial investment programme.
Yes. The company has approved a five-year investment plan, which we are implementing progressively. In recent months, we have completed a number of major internal refurbishment projects, including the renovation of our changing facilities and engineering offices, while we are already defining our new strategic development plan for the next five years. Alongside this, we are making a significant commitment to sustainability. We have installed almost 200 kW of photovoltaic capacity, an investment that confirms our determination to make our production activities increasingly efficient and environmentally responsible.
One of your main distinguishing features is the customisation of your systems. How important is this factor in international competition?
It is probably our greatest competitive advantage. We do not offer standardised solutions. Every system is designed around the customer’s specific production requirements, following a genuinely tailor-made approach. This flexibility is particularly valuable in the most advanced markets, where companies are looking for partners capable of adapting technology to their production processes rather than forcing their processes to adapt to technology. This ability to customise solutions is one of the most distinctive strengths of Italian industrial excellence and of the Made in Italy manufacturing tradition.
Looking ahead, what will be CAMImpianti’s next major challenges?
The market will become increasingly competitive and selective. The real challenge will not simply be to grow, but to preserve and continuously develop our in-house expertise, because ultimately it is people who make the difference. At the same time, we intend to strengthen our international presence, with a particular focus on the United States and North Africa, two regions that we consider highly strategic to our future development. We will continue to invest in innovation, training and sustainability while remaining true to the philosophy that has guided us since 1993: to be a reliable partner, close to our customers and capable of creating long-term value. Technology will continue to evolve rapidly, but it will be the quality of expertise, the ability to innovate and proximity to customers that ultimately determine business success. These are the foundations on which we intend to build the future of CAMImpianti.
