In the heart of Vomero in Naples, there is Ancora un Riccio, a beauty salon that is a little different from the others. An all-female staff starting from the owner in a sector, where, especially in this city, men are the masters.
Francesca Riccio, a young and determined woman, mother of two children, knows how the life of women today is chaotic and stressful and that is why she puts the well-being of her clients at the center of her work.
We enter the Salon, stand out some glass containers with powders of different shades, the herbal tea corner and a range of products where the word natural returns, we sit down to listen to his story.
Francesca, how did your passion for hair come about?
We can say, I am a daughter of art, in my family with my grandfather Vincenzo and my father Mario we have been hairdressers for three generations. Until I was 18, I rejected this passion, but I always took care of my friends’ hair until I could do without it and in 2003 I opened my Ancora un Riccio shop … a word game that I love a lot, but attention I don’t just deal with curly hair!
What distinguishes your salon from others?
Our strong point is the use of natural solutions especially for hair coloring. In fact, we use a natural color prepared solely with dyeing herbs or plants that allow total coverage of white hair. With Indigo, hibiscus, walnut, turmeric and rhubarb, to name a few, we get a lot of shades of color ranging from dark brown to blond. With these mixtures we not only manage to have bold, full-bodied tones, but at the same time we nourish and reinforce the hair that from the first applications is more full-bodied and with a new light. All this at affordable prices and accessible to all.
Seborrhea, dandruff, weakness and fall, the hair is subject to problems of various kinds, Your Salon is enabled Physia, what is it precisely?
To our customers we offer free analysis of the hair and scalp with the use of Tricocam, a camera that allows you to identify the various problems, and then intervene with specific treatments using Physia products based on essential oils.
Prospects for the future?
My main satisfaction is that my clients come here to relax and devote the right time to taking care of themselves. And this is why we are working on expanding our offer with the aim of becoming a 360-degree Wellness Center. Already today we have a good proposal that integrates hair care: massages, waxing, manicures etc. with the use of 100% organic products. But we still have so many surprises for our friends because Ancora un Riccio wants to satisfy … every whim!
