Founded in 1954 in Favria (TO), Perardi e Gresino is a historic precision machining company operating in the industrial components, automotive and renewable energy sectors. Alex Borghesio, Sales Director of this all-Italian excellence, reveals the secret of such success of a company that is now present in many countries around the world.

Dr. Borghesio, with what mission does the company set itself on the market today?

Founded about 70 years ago with the aim of becoming an important point of reference in the automotive market, Perardi e Gresino has focused its core business on the machining of components for on- and off-road industrial vehicles and renewable energies, addressing its offer to the world’s leading manufacturers. Thanks to a truly innovative business model, its strong vocation for technological innovation and internationalisation, over time it has managed to assert its leadership in a highly competitive and constantly evolving market, in which the quality of the service and products offered certainly make the difference. Today Perardi e Gresino is present in many countries around the world: North and South America, Europe, South Africa, Asia and since 2011 also in China thanks to the creation of FPMC, a subsidiary of the company based in Changsha (Hunan). With the aim of increasing its presence in a market that is strategic for us, namely China, in 2018 we created our first joint venture in Shiyan (Hubei), with Dong Feng Industrial, the most important local manufacturer of industrial vehicles.

What are your strengths compared to your competitors?

In recent years we have focused heavily on technological innovation, doubling our investments and introducing in all our plants fully automated work stations that are more efficient, high-performance, have a low environmental impact (our goal is to become carbon neutral within the next decade), and are in line with new market trends. Another distinguishing feature, which clearly differentiates us from other market players, is the fact that we have also invested heavily in the search for and subsequent training of new talent: as of today, the Group has 220 employees, mostly young, motivated and highly qualified people. In addition, in 2021 we completed a strategic corporate reorganisation operation at the top of the company, bringing about a generational change that is fundamental for successfully opening us up to new and interesting prospects of growth and development in new market segments. The most ambitious challenge for the future is certainly to consolidate our positioning by opening other production sites and forging new valuable collaborations and partnerships with start-ups and innovative companies, so that we can bridge the gaps in our business. This is the case of Safen srl (a new subsidiary of the group), a company that wants to revolutionise the world of compressed air with the help of patented and innovative solutions to give its customers full control of the pneumatic network by making it digital, high-performance and sustainable. The first POC in Perardi and Gresino was completed in 2022, which has yielded excellent results in the reduction of network losses, its constant monitoring with AI and Cloud, and a high economic saving.
